Bárbara Morea
Bárbara Morea is a visual artist. Her work grows out of ink and paper, out of what appears in the relationship between material, gesture and space. She explores in particular how ink responds to different types of paper: its absorption, density, transparency and texture. Water is also part of her practice, present to different degrees depending on the series.
She works from the brushstroke and the trace it leaves behind: the layers, the transparencies, the pauses and the spaces the gesture leaves open. The fragility of the paper, the intensity of the ink and their different behaviours build a language that shifts and deepens with each piece.
In some series, that inquiry shifts toward time, pause, and what happens between one moment and the next: space stops being only what surrounds the material and becomes an active part of the work. She organises her output in series by technique and year — ink, acrylic, mixed media — a body of work that now brings her to Espacio Regidor.
